What to pack for Umrah
A considered packing list built from what guests actually tell us they wished they had brought.

The essentials
Travel light. You will be walking more than you expect, often in heat, and you will almost certainly acquire things along the way.
- Ihram garments (two sets, so one can be washed)
- Comfortable, worn-in sandals that are easy to remove
- A small drawstring bag for footwear at the Haram
- Unscented soap and toiletries
- A refillable water bottle
- A lightweight prayer mat
- Passport, visa copy and printed itinerary
What guests wish they had brought
Three items come up again and again: a power bank, because you will be on your feet all day and using your phone to find your group; a light shawl or scarf, because air conditioning indoors is genuinely cold after the heat outside; and blister plasters.

- Blister plasters and foot sand
- A small umbrella for sun as much as rain
- Photocopies of key documents, kept separately
What to leave at home
Scented products should not be used while in the state of Ihram, so pack unscented alternatives rather than assuming you can buy them on arrival. Beyond that, leave anything valuable that you would be distressed to lose.
