How it works

How transfers work

Your driver is briefed on your flight number and waits in arrivals with your name. We track arrival times, so a delayed flight does not leave you standing in a terminal wondering whether your transfer has given up and gone home.

For the intercity leg we time departures around your check-out and the prayer schedule rather than putting you on the road at whatever hour happens to be convenient for the driver. The journey between Makkah and Madinah takes around four and a half hours by car, longer by coach with stops.

Private vehicles depart when you are ready and go directly. Shared services cost considerably less but wait until the vehicle fills and may make additional stops. For families with young children and for elderly travellers, the private option is usually worth the difference.

Will someone meet me at the airport?
If airport pickup is part of your arrangement, yes — your driver will be waiting in arrivals with your name, and the contact details are on your travel documents before you fly.
How long does the Makkah to Madinah journey take?
Around four and a half hours by private car, longer by coach with stops. We time departures around your check-out and the prayer schedule rather than putting you on the road at an awkward hour.
What is the difference between private and shared transfers?
A private vehicle departs when you are ready and goes directly to your destination. A shared transfer costs considerably less but waits until the vehicle fills and may make additional stops. For families and elderly travellers the private option is usually worth the difference.
